Taking Note on the History We Create – How the Present Becomes the Landscape of Our Past

Jun 28 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

When we read about topics that concern the history of mankind, the representational content that is created on that occasion happens in the future of those events. Thus, whenever we come in contact with anything whose origins are in the past, such as novels that were written in the 19th century, music that was composed in the 17th century, philosophy that was written 335 BCE, read of wars that existed there, visit the Colosseum or continue a religious tradition, we become able to observe how different periods of time in our history are a part of our future.

In personal level we may observe how all of our actions we are able to observe in our memories are a part of the landscapes of our own life. In a more neurologically definitive sense, the post-innate neurophysiology of an individual is remarkably different in the end of his life as it was in beginning of his life when the innate neurophysiology became exposed to the environment. In terms of the causal continuum of individual’s life, all that becomes the present of his existence comes into existence as a consequence. Why? Because nothing can appear from nothingness nor disappear to nothingness, but rather exists in consequence of sequence of events, just as the cause for the existence of a cloud is the result of water transforming into a form of gas and the reasons why it moves in the sky are defined by the complex atmospheric conditions such as low and high pressure points and so forth.

The future and the past are both non-existent states of the cosmos. The only difference between their existence are that the consequences of the past are existent in the present, and the existent consequences of the present are what form the future. Thus whatever happens in the past is consequentially existent in the present, although the original causes are in the form of their present effects. Needless to say, that what kind of actions we choose to do in the threshold of the emerging future largely defines the form of the future, and when our actions and inactions are counted in terms of the butterfly effect, the consequences of our actions amplify the further in the future we go. By taking note on that our actions form in effect the future, we could hope that one day we will become able to overcome the existence of war, and focus more on the history we create.

Make Your Presents Super Special – Give Personalized Gifts!

Jun 28 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

All throughout the year are events in which you’re expected to give presents. There are birthdays, the Christmas season, a graduation, wedding or baptism, and even bachelorette or stag parties. These occasions are held in celebration of something memorable. Thus, it’s always a good idea to add meaning to the event with personalized gifts.

Giving gifts are something that should be well thought about. While budget may be limited, it doesn’t mean that you could only get the cheapest gift in stores, and that’s that! Instead, make these affordable and simple items into wonderful surprises with creative ideas of your own.

The thing about putting in your art and effort in these personalized gifts is you could also redesign the items to fit an occasion. Where stuffed teddy bears are common presents, you could dress up the cuddly toy according to the event. For example, let is wear a Santa’s hat and ear muffs, and then attach a card with your greetings. You could also have the teddy in a basket decorated with Christmas motif and fill it with chocolates. Hence, a simple gift just became personalized to fit the season, and would make good tokens for friends and their families.

For kids, the most thoughtful presents would be toys and clothes; but you could also give educational materials as well. One good idea is to recycle a big box, cover it with wrappers with cartoon characters and then print the kid’s name on it. Then fill the box with good stuff the kids would like. The child would be delighted to have his own toy box or book shelf.

On the same note, romantic gifts can be simple and inexpensive, and yet become special with your handiwork. Why not put on DVD your love story, with your favorite songs on the background? Or give your lover pillows, sheets and blankets that’s all about you, with your pictures or names embedded in the items? Surely your loved one would appreciate the effort you put into such special gifts.

Parents or siblings love getting presents, too. It’s always touching if you could give personalized gifts that symbolize love and bonding. Your parents would be surprised with their framed wedding picture, and your brother would sure laugh with wonder if you frame his cutest baby picture. Address their interests with good thoughts as well. Why not give Dad a bag for his hobby, with his name embroidered on it? And Mom would sure be pleased with new things for the kitchen, like a spice rack or d├ęcor. Just make sure her name or your thoughts – even humor – would be in the items as well.

As it is, personalized gifts is about putting your ideas to work, and looking into the interests and needs of those who you give it to.. Surely, the worth of the gift would go beyond the store’s tag as the recipient would see your artful addition in the present.

Focus on the WIIFT for a Powerful Presentation

Jun 28 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

A while back I had the opportunity to work for nearly two days with the best-of-the-best sales pros in a client company. We spent our time together focused on taking their game up another notch with a workshop titled “Powerful Presentations.” One thing I noted is that really successful people generally are very open to new ideas and skills that will allow them to be even more successful!

A key idea I shared in this workshop was that our sales presentations are more powerful when we focus on WIIFT – What’s in it for Them – from the open of the presentation through the close.

To engage your audience, it’s incredibly important to tie the message about YOU into what it means to THEM. Who wants to listen to 10 or 15 minutes of background on the speaker and their company? Do you really care if they have been in business for over 75 years? About three minutes into the “background” about you, they have disengaged – you can see it in their body language. Instead, focus on WHY it is beneficial to them that your company has been in business so long. Will it mean a better product? Or more expertise that will solve a problem for them?

Initially there were some skeptics in the group who weren’t sure the WIIFT was THAT important. Until the first practice presentations began and each professional had to sit through all the other presentations. Being on the other side allowed them to feel what its’ like to have a lot of information shared AT them and not tied specifically TO them.

As we ended the workshop, these successful sales professionals commented that it IS powerful to make our message not about us – but that it is hard to do! The more successful and experienced we are, the harder it may be to do something different. To send a message adapted to our audience, with only enough detail that is important to them and then to link WHAT we do into WIIFT statements is not easy. But it is worth the effort for an engaged audience!

How much effort does it take to link the WHAT of your message to the WIIFT? Post your comments and let the rest us know we are not alone!

A Fantastic Present Idea for Children This Christmas

Jun 28 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

With everyone purchasing presents at this time of year in preparation for Christmas you can start to become very stressed and anxious. The problem is there is always several people who you hate purchasing for, not because you don’t like them but unfortunately they are extremely difficult to purchase for. For many years I hated purchasing for any small children as I found it extremely difficult to buy for them. Over the last few years I’ve found it slightly easier to purchase for them and almost enjoy it now. I realised that I wasn’t alone and there was probably many people who really didn’t know what to purchase smaller children so I’ve written the following article to help inform you of a great present idea so I hope you find the following article informative and useful.

Animal adoption packs are a great present for both the charity who provide it and for the gift recipient. Children love the idea of ‘owning’ an animal somewhere out in the wild and the great thing about these adoption packs is that the animals or charity will send you regular updates and picture to show you how the animal is getting on which children just adore. Furthermore they can often choose the animal they sponsor from a variety in a herd or group. If you adopt or sponsor an animal suitable to the child you’ll really score brownie points. I’ve always adopted a donkey or horse for a little girl and a tiger, loin or panda for a boy. I really do believe this is a fantastic present for the child and the charity as your money can really benefit the animal. Furthermore it teaches the child to care for other humans and animals. Don’t forget you can save money on presents often with voucher codes online or cash back deals.

Festive Presents for Kids and Children

Jun 28 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

It’s the same year in, year out, whenever the festive season comes around; parents are always engaged in a battle to find the most current and most popular games, gadgets and playthings for their kids to open on Christmas morning. There is so much choice and so many varieties on every theme that, even if you know your children inside out, it can be a hard gig choosing the right Christmas gift for them. Unless you’ve been blessed with a child who knows exactly what they want and their request is in your price range; then you’re probably preparing to start your toiling search through the hundreds of gifts on the market to find the perfect present for your little one.

This article will help you whittle down the competition and make buying a Christmas present for your children under 10 years old much easier.

Should you be looking to buy for new born babies this yuletide, colourful, bright, bold playthings are always a good bet. Young infants are drawn to shiny, vibrant colours and toys and games that are vivid and exciting will capture their attention. Also soft textured, cute and cuddly teddies, dolls and animals are an excellent choice as these simple toys always remain a firm favourite amongst youngsters. If you can find a plaything that sings lullabies, this is another brilliant Christmas gift. Babies love playing and learning to, so presents like playmats and gyms spark their interests, rouse their intrigue and encourage the infant’s co-ordination skills.

Slightly older babies (up to about 11 months) love contrasting textures and materials. Toddlers are thrilled by interaction between their different senses and, because they can get bored easily, gifts that have loads of different elements to them are always a top Christmas purchase. This is where the Skip Hop Funky Farmyard Activity Playmat steps up to the challenge and beats its rivals hands down. Along with its 12 loops and 5 colourful hanging toys that dangle appealingly above the baby’s head; it offers a quilted coordinated Tummy Time Pillow. This is such a versatile Christmas gift and can be enjoyed by all babies in all kinds of ways..

Imaginative play is something all kindergarten kids should engage in. Whether they love pretending to be a teacher, a chef or an astronaut; role-play is an essential part of pre-school kids learning and growing phase (plus they love it!). Try to find Christmas presents that encourage the child you’re buying for to play with other children because this will improve their interaction skills and develop language skills with their peers. A great example of a Christmas kid’s toy that does just this is The Play-Doh Fun with Food – Burger Builder. If your child likes nothing more than play-acting as a chef, then this is the perfect choice for them. This toy allows them the ability to make burgers and to choose all the trimmings. They’re able to ‘cook’ fries too and kids just love the idea of running their own restaurant!

School children require toys and games that are somewhat more complex to interest them. To ensure their concentration skills are developing, you need to get slightly more challenging Christmas gifts for children who are a bit older. By school time, kids are usually very capable at using computers so online games, such as Printies Pet Design Studio, are good because they can engage in learning on the internet. This sets them up for computer literacy in later life – which will be essential! Printies Pet Design Studio offers school kids the chance to create their ideal pet, in any shape or size, using the tools available. Then they can delight in printing them off on to Printies Fabric sheets… Just make sure you have the printer ink ready!

Monopoly is an age old classic and, even in the modern world, it remains one of the leading Christmas gifts for kids. Because technology is advancing, you can now buy newer versions of this timeless game, such as the up to date edition of Monopoly City. This is a top choice for all budding young entrepreneurs as it lets your child design a city to their tastes and observe their wealth as it expands. Monopoly City is a great Christmas gift to bring the family together!

As they grow older, children outgrow the traditional toys, games and playthings. They want more advanced, electronic gadgets at ages 10 and above, and boys and girls alike love computer games such as Playstations, Nintendo’s and iPods. Thankfully for you, there are hundreds of these electrical and remote controlled devices on the market, all you need to know is which ones to choose. One game that will be a firm favourite and popular choice this year is the Mega Bloks Battle Strikers Tournament Set (one of the Mega Blok games – of which there are many!). This is the best Battle Strikers play set which allows the child to engage in the ultimate experience of next generation of battling.

Because of the ever-growing variety of children’s toys on the Christmas market, adults can really struggle to find the perfect gift and often don’t know whether they’re making the right choice. My advice is that if you follow this guide and double check that your Christmas present is from a reputable manufacturer, you won’t go far wrong! P.S. Don’t forget the batteries!

MLM Training – What Is Presenting? You Might Be Surprised

Jun 14 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Just how do you get your prospects to accept your ideas, join your company, or try your products? Read this MLM training article and learn the basics of presenting so that your prospects will join your company and try your product or service.

The definition of present is to bring before the public. The word present comes to us from Latin, which means to show.

That’s the dictionary definition, but what is presenting as it relates to your MLM business? Presenting at its very core is taking a concept or idea that is in your head and conveying it to another person or persons so that they adopt the same or similar view on that concept or idea.

Let me give you an example or two. I would like you to picture a tennis ball. It’s bright green in color and fuzzy. It bounces if you throw it on the ground or against the wall. Do you get a picture of this tennis ball? Good – that’s presentation. If I put a thought into your head and cause you to think about it, that’s presentation.

If I took a picture of a tennis ball and showed it to you – that’s presentation. So now when you’re walking through an airport or driving down the highway and see pictures of things, you know that all of these pictures are presentations.

If I handed you a tennis ball and said, “Here hold this,” that’s also presentation. When I go to the grocery store on a Saturday morning, there are people who will give me a cracker with some kind of spread on it and ask me to taste it. That is presentation.

Now, presentation is not limited to physical things. I could present to you my views on the subject of integrity – that’s not a physical object. It’s just a thought in my head that I convey to yours.

Here’s the key MLM training point you need to understand: A presenter’s aim or intention is to get the person they’re presenting to, to agree and adopt the same view or a similar view. This is true whether you’re presenting to your employer, your mother, your spouse or your dog!

This is also true throughout any medium. Meaning, whether you’re presenting by speech or by written words it’s still the same concept, you desire another or others to adopt your same view.

So don’t think for a second that the media is “reporting” the news. They’re “presenting” the news – in the way they want people to view it.

So presentation means “to show It is conveying an item in your head to another. And this is an important MLM training tip to remember … otherwise you could be presenting incorrectly and prospects won’t understand what you are trying to convey.

Timeshare Sales Presentations: 3 Biggest Lies

Jun 13 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Fifty timeshare owners were recently surveyed about their timeshare sales presentation experiences. Over 90% were given lies by the timeshare salesperson. Here are the top three:

1. “The time you purchase will trade for anything, anywhere, anytime.”

Truth be told, exchanging can be very tricky. There is a complex system in place to determine the “trading power” between two resorts. Basically the system tries to match like units with like units. Owners of a peak season unit at one resort, can likely trade for a peak season unit at another resort. All “peak seasons,” however, are not created equal. Your ability to exchange for what you want, when you want it is never certain.

Nearly half of the respondents felt they had been lied to regarding the exchanging or trading power of their home resort. Victims were told such lies as, “We have the highest demand of any timeshare in the system.”

Nearly every timeshare has the ability to be exchanged for another. There are 3rd party networks of resorts which manage this process. Occasionally you can buy at a crumby resort and trade for a great one. This is by far the exception to the rule.

Exchanging can also be very expensive. One of the major timeshare exchange companies charges $250 to act as the middle-man in an exchange between two timeshare owners. This is about 25% of the price you’d pay to rent the unit.

2. “You can make money renting your unit.”

Most timeshare owners must go into debt to purchase their timeshare from the developer. They go into debt so willingly because they are often told they can rent out their unit and actually make some extra money.

The problem is that timeshare owners generally have no idea how to effectively rent out their unit. The resort is more than happy with this situation as they usually provide a service to rent out the unit for the owner — for a fee. This fee is typically around 35% of the rental price. And they don’t guarantee a rental. If it doesn’t rent, you’re out of luck. This is definitely not a guarantee.

Every timeshare unit also comes with yearly maintenance fees. These fees cover upkeep and taxes at the home resort and range from $500-$1000 per unit per year. Often an aggressively-priced timeshare rental doesn’t even cover these fees.

3. “This deal is only good for today.”

This is a standard sales line if ever there was one. Creating a sense of urgency to get the sale is one of the oldest tricks in the book. This is a lie. You don’t have to act today. The greatly overpriced timeshare will be available tomorrow as well. They will never refuse your money when there is so much commission on the line.

Even with all the unethical selling techniques, 97% of the respondents were happy with their home timeshare resort/network. One respondent summed it up when she said, “Most people just do not realize that using timeshares is such an affordable way to see the world!”

Timeshares are a great product if you know how to buy them and use them. A thriving timeshare resale market exists. You will rarely if ever get the best deal when you buy directly from the developer.

You can provide special slots inside the company portfolio so that you can furnish your clients with your business cards along with the other promotional materials that are inside the portfolio. It is one good way to meet the call to action that you require from your campaign materials.

By providing your clients with your business cards, you are in effect marking your business territory and the business cards shall help clients match and associate your company with the attractive business portfolio that you provide to them. This is particularly important if you are dealing with corporate accounts which calls for a more dedicated and personalized business interaction and coordination.

Mindfulness – Being Present

Jun 11 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

Mindful Monday: Being fully present with whatever I am doing is a key to success… and joy!

Several years ago I had the honor and pleasure of studying meditation with a Tai mountain monk, Phra Mana. His simple and gentle approach made all the difference. I finally understood what meditation was, and was not. I am forever in gratitude to him for introducing me to the practice of mindfulness.

And, it is about practice, not perfection. Truth be told, I joined his class at the Peaceful Dragon with lots of hope but not much confidence that I would actually learn to meditate. Why? Because I had attended several classes that kinda’ worked while in class, but had little lasting affect on me and my life.

Of course, when we are ready the teacher appears. My life was in transition and I needed a teacher who could help me navigate big change with grace. So, I signed up.

From the first class I felt a difference. Phra Mana had an easy, approachable demeanor and did not take himself or meditation too seriously. What I learned is that meditation is not (only) about sitting still and trying to be of no mind. It is about being mindful and fully present in whatever you are doing – be it breathing, eating, drinking, walking, running, playing, doing dishes, vacuuming or talking with family members.

Yes, we practiced meditating on our breath, watching candles, incense and just sitting still (some people on the floor in lotus position and others in chairs). But, we also enjoyed being mindful while walking slowly around a room with eyes half closed, sitting by a bubbling stream, drinking tea, eating our meals and much more.

He taught us to be fully present, and not resist the thoughts that entered our mind. Inviting us to gently let go of each thought as they popped up. And, for those like me whose mind got more active when sitting still, he taught us to to focus on one thought at a time.

He reminded us to not get attached to the thoughts that attempt to distract us from what we are presently engaged in. Just gently let go of them and bring our attention back to where we are and what we are doing. Fully engage in and enjoy the moment. AND, most importantly, to remember to breathe. Making each moment more focused and peaceful, energizing and power-full.

Even now, as I write this blog, I take a moment to enjoy a slow breath and hear his playful and gentle reminder to “give a little smile!”

Wishing you days of mindful work and play and joyful presence.

Presentations That Sell – Seven Fatal Flaws and How to Fix Them, Part 4

Jun 06 2023 Published by admin under Uncategorized

You have a big presentation coming up and you want to get it right. You have read my preceding articles and think you are ready to roll. Not so fast! Before you practice your delivery, there is the element of energy to address.

People don’t buy from a logo. They don’t buy from a building. And they don’t buy because you manufacture or sell the only gizmo on the planet of its kind. People buy from people they like; it’s the likability factor applied to real life business.

Think about it. As technology becomes increasingly complicated, we allow it to take over our phones, our entertainment, our businesses and our virtual lives. And as we do, an aloofness has come on the scene. A coolness has crept into the way we connect with each other — if indeed, we connect at all. A distorted “professionalism” has slithered into business and we actually think a “your call is important to me” message on our voice mail means something good to the caller. It doesn’t.

It seems that people are becoming less and less caring about showing they care, less and less adept at oiling the interpersonal wheels that make life run smoothly. Or maybe they just don’t think that being likable counts for much in business. Not true. Research tells us that people respond positively to likable people. Clearly, it’s important to convey a warm, human element when you present — because it’s the nice thing to do and because it pays off big-time.

Still there’s more. Presentation is a performance. That doesn’t mean you should be phony or slick or fake in any way. It means that when you present, you are on stage and your audience is prepared to listen. It also means you must be aware of your physical presence and what it conveys.

When it comes to a sales presentation, turn on your audience and keep them listening by eliminating the forth fatal flaw.

You present without energy.

Energy is appealing. Enthusiasm is infectious. And passion excites everyone around you. Whether you say it in my office or present it in a formal stand-up arena, you must present with energy.

We may call it charisma, or personality or magnetism, but it all comes down to much the same thing — energy. When you reveal real, genuine emotion, people relate to you and want to hear what you have to say. Your excitement gets them excited. When there is an energy flow, it seems to make great things possible. Energy is a likable human characteristic.

Watch your favorite new anchor. Practically chained to a seat, reading what may be a horrific story or a simply boring news report, that anchor still manages to convey energy — because without it, you and everyone else would switch channels. While your audience can’t turn you off, they can easily tune you out.

It’s energy that captivates; it’s energy that connects; it’s energy that conveys the warm, friendly person you want your audience to see in you.

It is said that every morning, President Kennedy checked his smile in the mirror and practiced until his eyes crinkled. He understood his smile had to reach across a room. Yours does too, so watch yourself on tape and it’s likely you’ll see the need to kick it up a notch. If you want your energy reach across to an audience, that smile may need to be a little bigger, those gestures a little broader. Get it right and all the rest is simply detail.

Bottom line: if you can’t present with energy, stay home and let somebody else do it for you.
